These Terms of Use govern your use of Boglands Academy at learn.boglands.ie, operated by Wandering Albatross Ltd (CRO 435216), Ireland. By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or using the site, you agree to these terms.

The service

Boglands Academy provides online courses and related learning materials (for example thatching, natural beekeeping, blacksmithing, and bog life). Some courses may be free; others require payment. Course content, availability, and pricing may change.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login secure.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the platform, infringe others’ rights, or breach these terms.

Enrolment and payments

  • Paid courses and memberships are charged via third-party payment processors integrated with our learning platform (MasterStudy LMS). Card and wallet details are handled by those processors, not stored in full on our servers.
  • Access to paid content is granted after successful payment (or as otherwise stated on the course page).
  • Unless a specific course page says otherwise, digital course fees are generally non-refundable once access has been granted, except where Irish or EU consumer law requires a refund (for example certain distance-selling cooling-off rights where they apply and have not been waived by starting the digital content).
  • If you believe a charge is wrong, contact learn@boglands.ie promptly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your login or redistribute course videos, downloads, or materials without permission.
  • Copy, scrape, or republish our content for commercial use.
  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, or overload the site.
  • Post unlawful, abusive, or infringing content in any community or messaging features.
  • Use the site to spam or mislead others.

Intellectual property

Course materials, branding, text, images, and site design are owned by Wandering Albatross Ltd or our licensors. Your enrolment gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to access the content for your own learning, not ownership of the materials.

Disclaimers

Courses are for educational purposes. Practical crafts such as thatching, beekeeping, or blacksmithing can involve risk; online lessons are not a substitute for in-person training, local regulations, or professional advice. The site is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, our total liability arising from your use of the site or a course is limited to the amount you paid us for that course in the 12 months before the claim (or €50 if you paid nothing).

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. We may withdraw courses or close the service with reasonable notice where practical. Provisions that should survive (for example IP and liability limits) remain in effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Irish courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live in the EU.
